Dr. Abhishek Karadkar is born and brought up in Mumbai. He comes from a family of Doctors. Therefore he was deeply influenced during his upbringing by medical background. He has grown up admiring his father perform surgeries. Eventually, his quest for anatomy became his passion to be a surgeon.
He completed both,
- M.B.B.S. and Masters degree in Orthopedics from the prestigious Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College (Sion Hospital), Mumbai, one of the top govt. medical colleges in India.
Following which he worked there in the Spine Department to master his skills in Spine Surgery.
He later completed
- Fellowship in Minimally invasive Spine Surgery from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Nanavati Hospital.
His quest to learn the latest and best techniques in spine surgery took him all over the world.
- Advanced training in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery from France.
- Endoscopic spine surgery training from South Korea.
- Fellowship in Deformity Correction and Reconstructive Spine Surgery from the U.K. at the largest center in Europe for deformity correction.
- Pediatric Spine Fellowship from Denmark.
He keeps himself updated by involving in various live surgical and cadaveric workshops, clinical meets, instructional courses, international conferences, etc.
His work has been presented at national and international level.
He is a post-graduate teacher at an MCGM hospital.
He is actively involved with the proceedings of the Bombay Spine Society.
He is conversant in English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujrati, Kutchi
He lives with his wife and Son in Ghatkopar, Mumbai.
He is tech-savvy, enjoys travelling and music.
